Kaylee Duncan, a tenth grader in AP Language, has won 1st place for the Dr. Joseph Francavilla Prize for Fiction as part of Columbus State's Carson McCullers Literary Award. Her work will be published in this year's anthology. This continues a strong tradition for HCHS as Kaylee is our third student to place in the Carson McCuller's Literary Award. Last year, Adi Wright won 2nd place in fiction, and in 2022, Jocelyn Peebles won 1st place in playwriting. HCHS is proud of Kaylee as she accepted the challenge, and her hard work has paid off. Harris County is proud!
